The Extrema Ratio PUGIO Dagger is based on a dagger that was used by Roman soldiers as an auxiliary weapon. Daggers, such as the PUGIO, were weapons frequently used for assassination and suicide.* (The PUGIO was possibly used to murder Julius Caesar.) Due to its sturdiness and distinctive shape, it was an excellent dagger for up-close fighting when a soldier was unable to use his sword. Extrema Ratio was inspired to create its own modern version of this iconic dagger. The combination of Roman and Caucasian dagger influences adds an interesting historical and cultural touch to its design. Extrema Ratio classifies the PUGIO as a boot dagger and excellent for concealed carry.

BLADE: Extrema Ratio has retained the basic blade shape of original Roman PUGIO daggers. It is double-edge with a distinctive leaf shaped blade. The blade is hollow ground. Razor sharp.

HANDLE: The handle of the PUGIO Dagger according to Extrema Ratio “...sports a cuttlebone-shaped hilt reminiscent of the longer Caucasian knives .”

SHEATH: A hard sheath with a belt clip that allows you to adjust your carry positions. This belt clip can be positioned at various heights on the hard sheath, plus you can configure it so that it sits at various angles. This gives you almost unlimited options for a comfortable carry. You can position your knife for a discreet carry that works best for you. The sheath has an automatic retention system that holds the knife securely and safely.
