ABOUT THE ERMES OPERATIONAL: Looking for an unusual knife to show off? Something different? This is it! This distinctive single-edge dagger is another one of Extrema Ratio's commemorative knives. This commemorative knife was developed in collaboration with the Italian Regiment Helicopters for Special Operations (R.E.O.S.). The R.E.O.S. provides helicopter support for Italian Special Forces.*

BLADE: The ERMES has a spear point and unusual stylized guards. There is a fuller on each side of the blade to decrease the weight without decreasing the blade's strength. The unique double guards are a stylized representation of wings. The R.E.O.S.'s Coat of Arms contains wings and this is an excellent visible way to celebrate this unit.

HANDLE: The handle is composed of fiberglass reinforced polyamide FRN (Fiber Reinforced Nylon). Lanyard hole on end. Ergonomically designed to provide a good grip.

SHEATH: The sheath is a hybrid sheath made of Kydex and Cordura. Attached lanyard. Multiple lanyard holes along both side of the sheath for flexibility. Can be carried on a belt as well as being MOLLE compatible.

** The blade is made with N690 cobalt stainless steel; a high performance steel with excellent cutting and sharpening characteristics. This steel is also used in the butchering industry and to make surgical instruments.

NOTE: Extrema Ratio knives, with black/colored finished blades, are designed for many purposes except food preparation. While they are known for their versatility, durability and strength, they are not ideal for preparing food. For food preparation purposes, it's recommended to use kitchen knives specially designed for the task.
