ABOUT The RAO II EXPEDITIONS The RAO II EXPEDITIONS is a well-designed, exceptionally flexible folder. Its sheath allows it to be carried either as a compact closed knife or as an open fixed blade. In addition, it is equipped with a firesteel and a diamond sharpener. The RAO II EXPEDITIONS is a high quality, robust tool. This is a great knife to accompany you into the field for activities such as camping, hunting, wilderness experiences, bugout bag, plus an excellent EDC.

BLADE: It has strong drop point. The RAO II EXPEDITIONS blade can be reinforced with a safety locking system that turns it into a strong fixed blade. The finish on the blade is what Extrema Ratio calls “Dark Stone “. It is a burnished and stone washed surface treatment.

HANDLE: Ergonomic designed handle with a desert finish.

LOCK: Has a extremely sturdy locking system that includes a safety hand-threaded steel pin that is screwed through two holes by the guard section of the handle. This is a safety system that guarantees the knife is able to handle heavy duty use.

SHEATH: The RAO II EXPEDITIONS has a unique desert tan cordura sheath. This sheath is constructed so that the knife is either carried as a closed blade in the front section or as an open blade in the back section. Completing the RAO II EXPEDITIONS is a diamond sharpener riding in a pocket on the front of the sheath and firesteel on the side.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

* The blade is made with N690 cobalt stainless steel; a high performance steel with excellent cutting and sharpening characteristics. This steel is also used in the butchering industry and to make surgical instruments.

** The handle is made of black anodized Anticorodal, an aluminum alloy that is very strong and corrosion resistant.

NOTE: Extrema Ratio knives, with black/colored finished blades, are designed for many purposes except food preparation. While they are known for their versatility, durability and strength, they are not ideal for preparing food. For food preparation purposes, it's recommended to use kitchen knives specially designed for the task.
