ABOUT THE KREIOS EXPEDITIONS: The Extrema Ratio KREIOS EXPEDITIONS, developed with input from Daniele Dal Canto*, is inspired by the Kreios machete. It is an "off-road" cutting tool, designed to be a multi-tasking, versatile instrument for numerous applications. Ergonomically designed and perfectly balanced, the KREIOS EXPEDITIONS excels at clearing dense vegetation. Its robustness makes it a reliable machete for the heaviest fieldwork. It has additional tools for field and survival needs.

BLADE: Its modern design combines traditional Malay and African blade styles. The KREIOS EXPEDITIONS is ideal for fieldwork and can also be used for defense or offense when necessary. The 32 cm (12.60 inches) "full flat" cutting edge, 11° forward blade inclination, and 630-gram (22.22 ounces) weight provide exceptional cutting power and durability, resisting bending under pressure.** 

HANDLE:  The KREIOS EXPEDITIONS' ergonomic handle is designed so you can use a two-handed grip if needed for more powerful blows. Gives you greater control and permits more pressure. Removable handle for maintenance. Has a lanyard hole (with a lanyard included) onthe end of the sturdy handle.

SHEATH: The KREIOS EXPEDITIONS comes with a desert Cordura sheath featuring a MOLLE system and a safety strap for secure carrying. The sheath includes a mini pouch containing paracord with a flammable filament for emergency use and a Firesteel for lighting fires.

* Daniele Dal Canto is a master advance instructor at F.I.S.S. (Italian Federation of Sports and Experimental Survival),   He is a survival, bushcraft and prepping professional. He teaches what action to take in emergency and/or dangerous situations as well as self-sufficiency techniques. He has been a consultant for Extrema Ratio since 2008.

** The blade is made with N690 cobalt stainless steel; a high performance steel with excellent cutting and sharpening characteristics. This steel is also used in the butchering industry and to make surgical instruments.

NOTE: Most Extrema Ratio knives are designed for many purposes except for use with food. While they are known for their versatility, durability and strength, they are not ideal for using with food. For food purposes, it's recommended to use knives specially designed for the task.
